Village Administrator Position Opening

The Village of Johnson Creek is seeking applicants for its next Village Administrator.
Who We Are
The Village of Johnson Creek (pop. 3,318) ideally nestled next to the Rock River in Jefferson County is located perfectly between Milwaukee and Madison to the east/west and Oshkosh and Rockford, Illinois to the north/south. The Village of Johnson Creek prides itself on maintaining traditional qualities of a small Wisconsin town paired with incredible amenities and quick access to everything residents need. Johnson Creek is home to a variety of reasonable housing options, new schools, dozens of national retailers, and multiple unique dining options ranging from casual to the unforgettable. This unbeatable combination has created continual residential growth for more than two decades while also supporting a business environment where national firms and local entrepreneurs alike have a history of success.
The Village operates under a Village Board-Village President form of government. The Village Board consists of a Village President and six Village Trustees elected on a non-partisan basis on alternating years.
The Village of Johnson Creek employs 18 full-time staff, supplemented by more than 40 part-time and seasonal employees. The Village also operates a Water and Sanitary Sewer Utility. The Village of Johnson Creek is financially strong, with the most recent budget nearly $6 million in total (all funds).
The Position
Our next Administrator will find an engaged Village Board, with business-friendly policies and strong relationships with business leaders throughout the community, paired with sustained opportunities for economic development, and a strong team of staff to help achieve our goals. The Village has established a progressive Capital Improvement Plan and actively manages financial resources to provide necessary funding for important public services, while also protecting property owners with one of the lowest tax rates in the region. Priorities for the incoming Administrator include continuing the tradition of economic success, identifying, and promoting future residential development projects, achieving long-term infrastructure goals of the Village Board, and leading the Village by developing unique, creative solutions that make the Village and surrounding area a destination of choice for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Management Style and Attributes
The ideal candidate will be a strategic-thinking candidate that can demonstrate experience in financial management and budget administration, capital planning, personnel management, with experience in economic and community development. Personal and professional integrity are essential qualities for the Village Administrator, as is the ability to work effectively with the Village Board and our partners throughout the community.
Education and Experience
Minimum education should include a bachelor¡¦s degree in public administration, finance, business management, or other closely related field is required. Well qualified candidates will possess a master¡¦s degree and 5-7 years¡¦ experience in municipal management. The Village may consider candidates that can demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires a valid Wisconsin Driver¡¦s license.

Benefits:
This position is posted with a salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 with a full benefits package. Starting salary will be DOQ.
