Electrician
Location: US-WA-Wenatchee
Job Details:
Working independently with little supervision, perform the following: journey-level electrical work; skilled work in the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical, digital, electronic, and electrical controls for heating, air-conditioning, and related equipment; skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction of buildings, grounds, machinery, facilities and equipment. This position also directly supports the college¡¦s mission and strategic goals by contributing to a safe and comfortable learning environment.

Essential Functions:
6¦1 Alter, maintain, repair or install wiring, cables, switches, controls, fuse boxes, breaker panels, instrument panels, distribution panels, buzzer and bell circuits, power circuits and communications circuits; may construct new facilities from blueprints and specifications.
6¦1 Modify, adjust, maintain, repair or install electric motors, electrical equipment, instruments such as pumps, clocks, lamps, stoves, electrical meters, timers, fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, power tools and motors.
6¦1 Inspect electrical systems, communications systems and equipment to detect and correct faulty components or parts.
6¦1 Perform alterations, adjustment, modification, repair and installation of electrical equipment systems; estimates materials and time needed to complete jobs.
6¦1 Assist with maintenance and operating the mechanical systems, boilers, chillers and cooling towers.
6¦1 Assist with maintenance and operating the central distribution systems of steam and chilled water including pipes, pumps and water treatment.
6¦1 Assist with operation and maintenance of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, which are univents, air handlers, dampers, ducts, valves, etc. in each building of the district.
6¦1 Assist with operation and maintenance of the district refrigeration systems which include all air conditioners, heat pumps, refrigerators, coolers and ice machines.
6¦1 Install, repair and operate distributed energy management system and other digital computer networks.
6¦1 Provide response, assessment, and appropriate remedial action or referral for general radio trouble calls.
6¦1 Identify life safety and health issues and provide remedial action or referral to appropriate individual.
6¦1 Provide assistance during inspections such as fire alarm and sprinkler inspections, boiler inspections, elevator inspections, and other building systems requiring regular testing or inspections.
6¦1 Participate in planning and project evaluation meetings.
6¦1 Review drawings and blueprints for capital projects for accuracy and sufficiency; provide recommendations for changes.
6¦1 Advise supervisor of requirements to replace or upgrade tools and equipment necessary to support maintenance of all building systems.
6¦1 Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
6¦1 Assist in providing departmental input in preparing annual budgets for the college.
6¦1 May lead or instruct helpers or other maintenance workers as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
6¦1 High school diploma or equivalent.
6¦1 Four years full-time equivalent journey-level experience as an electrician or applicable work experience -or- completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician. (Vocational training may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis).
6¦1 Current Washington state EL-01 electrical license/certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:
6¦1 Associates degree or higher.
6¦1 Experience with central distribution, HVAC, refrigeration and control systems; maintenance in a large facility desired.
6¦1 Ability to improve upon existing system while providing the best possible customer service.
6¦1 Possess commercial driver¡¦s license (CDL).
6¦1 Experience creating digital content (such as Word/PDF documents and web and learning management system content as appropriate to the role) in accessible formats.
6¦1 Bilingual to Spanish and English.
